Alex on The Power of Networking and Connection

What would you say are the top three to five things that got you to where you are today?
The journey to where I am today has been shaped by three core pillars: having a village, applying knowledge, and establishing discipline. Having guides—whether mentors, peers, or inspiration gleaned from books—has been invaluable. I’ve learned so much from people I’ve had the privilege to meet and even from those I’ve never met. But knowledge alone isn’t enough; I’ve found that applying what I learn is where real growth happens. Discipline has also been key. Practices like meditation and journaling have helped me set boundaries and stay focused on my goals, especially as I balance my creative passions and responsibilities.

What does self-care look like for you, and how do you maintain your hustle when motivation is low?
Self-care for me is all about mindfulness. I challenge the traditional idea of hustle by focusing on being present and prioritizing quality over quantity in my efforts. Rest is a big part of that. I make time to journal, meditate, and recenter myself when I need to. Speaking affirmations over myself is also important. There’s something powerful about using my voice—not just to create music, but to uplift my spirit. It’s a practice that keeps me grounded and helps me stay aligned with my purpose.

These practices remind me that hustle doesn’t have to be chaotic or overwhelming—it can be intentional, mindful, and deeply fulfilling.
